Beulah I. King, 99, of Elkville, passed away at 12:03 A.M., Saturday, April 9, 2005 at her residence.
Beulah was a homemaker.  She had helped run the Little Wonder Caf in Du Quoin with her husband Jesse King.  They had owned and operated King's Grocery in Dowell from 1963 until 1966.  She had also worked at Yates Chicken Farm in Elkville.  She loved to crochet, play pinochle and watch her soap operas.  She was a former member of Dowell Baptist Church.  She was of the Pentecostal faith and was studying the Bible with the Jehovah Witnesses.
She was born February 19, 1906 at Donaldson, IL, the daughter of Lucias and Amy (Jette) McCaslin.
She married Jesse Samuel King on June 1, 1924 at Elkville, IL and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2000.
She is survived by two daughters - Joanna Bagley and husband Vernon "Joe" of Elkville, and Mary Cavitt and husband Paul of Elkville, one son-in-law - Gene Barwick of Thompsonville, two sister-in-laws, fourteen grandchildren, over fifty-three great grandchildren and over sixteen great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son - Robert Jr., one daughter - Doris Barwick, two brothers - George McCaslin and Bill McCaslin, two sisters - Leliah McCaslin Gossett and Anna McCaslin Gossett, one grandson - Dennis Cavitt, and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Mr. Mark Hacker - a Jehovah's Witness Minister officiating.
Friends may call from 8 A.M. until the time of service on Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the VNA Tip Hospice Silver Team and will be accepted at the funeral home.
